Forest Schools

For our Forest School sessions, we work with Street Country Forest School. Street Country gives children the opportunity to explore, discover and create in the natural environment of the woodland. Activities include discovering wildlife, woodland craft, tool use, den building and camp fire cooking. It enables children to connect with the natural world and learn new skills and develop self confidence.

It is based in North Bersted, Bognor Regis and Ruth Street also offers an after school club on Thursdays.
During the last two weeks of half term, Lime Class were lucky enough to be able to go and visit our Forest School. They took part in den building, wood sawing, fire lighting, charcoal making and enjoyed time climbing and exploring the forest.

The children enjoyed this opportunity a lot and it was lovely to see them so happy and free outside. We definitely hope to be able to visit again one day.
This term Hazel Class visited Forest School and took part in many exciting activities.
We made models with clay and had a go a sawing wood to make special badges. We  built dens with branches and planks.
Some of us got very muddy in the mud kitchen! Many of us climbed ladders . It was really great to see everyone active and enjoying their time in the forest, experiencing new things and working together with each other.

We have been enjoying our time at Forest School.
There have been lots of different activities for us to try: den building, bug hunting, clay, making name badges using a palm drill, collecting items from around the forest with different textures, learning about the wildlife around us.

We have made homes for hedgehogs, tasted honey and identified plants we have seen.
