Home Learning

Please check here for information about your child’s learning each day. I have created a structured timetable similar to our normal school routine, where possible.

An example of the daily timetable is below, it is important to try and keep the structure of a school day whilst learning at home.

Each day I shall set 3 main activities – a phonics/writing activity, a maths activity and a creative activity.

Remember children learn best through play so please try to make the learning as fun as possible. As well as encouraging SPLASH (self-initiated playful learning and sharing) time throughout the day.

Welcome to the Spring Term!
We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a very happy new year to you all! We have an exciting term coming up with our topic 'Once Upon A Time'.
We really enjoyed having a visit form West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service. They taught us what to in case of an emergency and how to keep ourselves safe. We also got to go inside of the fire engine and see all the different pieces of equipment stored inside.
This week we have really enjoyed learning more about fairy tales. We have loved sharing and reading our favourite stories with our families, friends and Ash Class this week.
On Thursday we came dressed up as our favourite fairy tale character and it was our class assembly! We loved performing our Goldilocks song and performing our character fairy tale dance.
On Pancake Day we had great fun learning how to make our own pancakes. We measured out the ingredients and all whisked the mixture together. Our favourite part was definitely eating the pancakes... yum yum!!!!
During 'Science Week' we were focusing on keeping healthy. As part of our exciting week, we tried some different fruits that many of us had not tried before.
They were really tasty!!
We have loved PE this term, we have been on a space adventure. We have been thinking about different ways of jumping around the moon.
We really enjoyed raising money for Children in Need on Friday 18th November! Here are some photos of us on the day and at our 'Pudsey Disco'.
On Maths Investigation Day the children loved exploring Maths in the outdoor learning environment. We focused on recognising numbers, drawing shapes and making different patterns.
We have started teaching phonics over the last few weeks.
