Dance House
On Wednesday 24th May, our dance club had the privilege of performing at Worthing Pavilion Theatre, as part of Dance House. The children helped choreograph a Disney medley to celebrate 100 years of Disney. It was a fantastic opportunity to perform in a theatre and the children absolutely loved it!
To celebrate 100 days until the Paris Olympics, the Bronze Ambassadors helped to plan a Mini-Olympic Day for the school. EYFS children took part in surfing and cycling themed activities. Children in Year 1 - 6 took part in Tri-Golf, Fencing and Modern Pentathlon themed activities. The children were in mixed teams from mixed year groups.
Throughout the day points were collated from the different activities and the results were:
1st Place - Unicorn with 1040
2nd Place - Dragon with 907
3rd Place - Phoenix with 890
4th Place - Pegasus with 775
Infant Agility
Our EYFS and Year 1 children had a lot of fun at the Infant Agility. The activities had been designed by Sports Hall Athletics and aimed to improve and test the children's fundamental movement.
Disney Festival
8 children from Year 1 and 2 took part in the Shooting Stars Disney Event. The aim of the festival was to encourage girls to play football through Disney themed activities. They had lots of fun learning football skills linked to Toy Story and Frozen.
Let Girls Play Football
On Friday 8th March, Bartons took part in #LetGirlsPlay to encourage more girls to play football. Our Bronze Ambassadors organised and lead football activities on the playground for all the children to take part in. It was a huge success and great to see so many girls playing football!

Sports for Champions Day - Sponsored Event
On 10th November, we welcomed professional England footballer, Chloe Peplow to Bartons. She hosted the sponsored fitness event where every class worked with her taking part in a fitness workshop. During an inspiring whole school assembly, she explained how she had dreamed of being a professional footballer and told us how she progressed in her career - actually playing for England and other top women's football clubs.  She explained the importance of being and staying fit. We had lots of fun and it was very insightful!
