Following the success of the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympic Games, the Government wanted to inspire the nation to enjoy sport and promote sports in schools. The Government were determined to secure a significant and lasting legacy from the Games and develop an enjoyment of sport and physical activity, promoting a healthy lifestyle in children from an early age.
